There's now a petition on the No 10 Site calling for recognition of
the vital support that Attendance Allowance (AA) and Disability Living
Allowance (DLA) provide to disabled people, and to ensure that these
benefits are secured and are not removed as part of any future reform
of the social care system in England.

You can sign the petition on the No. 10 site, at
<http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/AttendanceA/>.

Pass it on!

How narrow minded. If they were removed and replaced by something better that wouldn't be a bad thing.

There are so many visually impaired people who go on about how they don't get enough mobility allowance, but they travel all over the country to do activities, see friends from blind schools and blind colleges go to boring conferences (I'd rather watch Farsley Celtic in the Conference North before they go bust not due to lack of government handouts), etc. If it wasn't enough they wouldn't be able to do that. And they've got their expensive talking phones and talking computers and talking note takers, and they go to Site Village for more gadgets that cost more than a bag of Seabrooks prorn cocktale crisps at Asda.

No, and this will probably benefit people who have other disabilities more than the "I'm so independent why aren't you as independent as me" blind people.
